Watch My Videos and Get Paid What You Are Worth NOW
There is no doubt that your job and career are a huge part of your life.
After your Family and your Healthy, it's probably the most important thing to you.
That's why I created this blog, along with my website called SalaryStepUp.com.
I have found some powerful and important tools that I'm going to be sharing with you in order for you to get a raise at work.
Before you ask for a raise, it usually helps to find out "what you are worth".
And, of course to be totally clear, I'm talking about what your position typically pays.
There are a number of really great online resources that can assist you in finding what the "industry standard" pay rate is for your job.
Some of these resources are:
GlassDoor.com - Found here: http://www.glassdoor.com/index.htm
Salary.com - Found here: http://www.salary.com/
and
PayScale.com - Found here: http://www.payscale.com/mypayscale.aspx
These three resources can be very helpful in assisting you to find out if you are currently being OVER-paid (meaning that you make more money than the industry standard) or if you are being UNDER-paid (meaning that you make less money than the industry standard).
Of course, some factors are things like geographical location and the level of skill that you use at work.
These websites will address those factors as well.
The first step is to put in some elbow grease into the project and find out what you are worth.
Then rite down the the LOW wages, the HIGH wages and your CURRENT wages.
Finally, find the difference between the two and see how much of a gap already exists. Based on this gap, you should be able to determine what salary increase you are going to ask for.
Keep this amount in mind because you will be referencing this in the near future.
