Step 9 - Negotiation

Negotiation skills are important for you to get anything that you want. But when it comes to asking for a pay raise from your boss, it's critical that you are not only excellent at negotiation, but that you can read the situation and know what types of techniques to use. In this video I explore 'hard' negotiation and 'soft' negotiation from the perspective of the power that you have at work, combined with the solid evidence that you will use to prove to your boss that you deserve more pay.

In this video I will teach you...

* Why it's important to be specific and never use a "salary range" when asking for your pay increase.

* The distinction between a hard, soft and ambiguous tactic... What they mean, when to use them and how to implement them in any negotiation situation.

* How to make your boss fear losing you and have THEM offer you a better pay raise than you originally are requesting.

* When to mention a dollar amount and when to mention a percentage when you as for your raise at work.

* How NOT knowing what you want can make you look weak in a negotiation.

* A powerful technique that you can use to instantly re-frame the conversation in your favor.

* A way to deal with most objections in a negotiation session.

This video is just a single element of the Salary Step-Up Series.
