Step 20 - Fear and Emotions

With any human interaction there is fear and emotion. They go together like peanut-butter-and-jelly and while you can't control emotion or fear, there are a number of things that you can do to influence them for yourself and for your boss. These can often come up during times that you are making your pay raise request, so it's important to acknowledge them and deal with them.

In this video I talk about...

* Understanding what fear is and how to deal with it when it comes up.

* Why our fears often deal with small things rather than things that evolutionarily mattered in the not too distant past.

* How to make yourself deserving of a pay raise when the fear about asking your boss for one comes up.

* A way to confidently display your emotions in a powerful way and not seem overly needy at the same time.

* How to appear "emotionally attractive" during your presentation.

* Why it's critical to remain positive in your requests - How to stay upbeat, avoid being "aloof" and really sell yourself when emotions or fear creep up for you.

This video is just one part of the Salary Step-Up Series.
